A three-day national event run by the Australian Water Association (AWA) and Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA), ENVIRO’14 is an environmental business conference and exhibition.
ENVIRO’14 Pathways for Better Business Conference & Exhibition will run at the Adelaide Convention Centre from September 17-19, attracting speakers from Australian and international environment and industry bodies.
The Wingfield Waste & Recycling Centre www.wingfieldrecycling.com.au is a world-class resource recovery and waste recycling operation that contains a collaborative cluster of commercial businesses on a 94ha site in the north of Adelaide. Recycling precinct partners include

As major sponsor for ENVIRO’14, Wingfield Waste & Recycling Centre is teaming with the South Australian Government and SA Water, the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ) and the Australian Solar Council.
This year’s conference theme, ‘Pathways for better business’, will be an important event for industry, government and the environmental sectors to gather and shape policy, and progress on sustainable enterprise said Ms Trixie Smith, Technical Program Director.
ENVIRO‘14 continues the tradition of ENVIRO conferences by showcasing the best that the water and waste industries have to offer. Clean Energy and Clean Air will be incorporated into ENVIRO‘14 due to their close alignment with the waste and water sectors.

Event will practice what it preaches…
ENVIRO'14 will apply proven sustainable practices to all aspects of the event including energy, waste, resources, transport, catering and water.Wherever possible and practical, strategies will be utilised to reduce the carbon ‘footprint’ of the event and minimise waste and consumption of resources. Emissions that cannot be avoided will be offset.
Major initiatives will include predominant electronic distribution of all conference material, the minimisation of energy consumption and the use of recycled or recyclable products including name badges and signage.
The inevitability of carbon regulation is real and the impact on the events industry could be significant. By establishing and implementing a set of ‘guidelines’ we will reduce any future impact of such regulation and in doing so reduce future cost increases. This will positively contribute toward improving the environment.
